I was born in Los Angeles but I was adopted and grewup in eastern Montana. For those of you who have not made the endless drive through big sky country,imagine wide, open spaces, tumbleweeds, and grazing herds of cattle. I ventured out to Seattle in 1988 to go to college. After graduating from the University of Washingtonwith a B.A. in Comparative History, I spent a year in Prague teaching English which was a wonderful experience.
